“The subconscious mind is our ‘autopilot’ and the conscious mind is our manual control.”
–Dr. Bruce Lipton, author, The Biology of Belief

Here is more from Dr. Lipton, “If a ball comes near your eye, the slower conscious mind may not have time to be aware of the threatening projectile. The conscious mind processes 40 environmental stimuli per second. The subconscious mind processes 20 million environmental stimuli per second, and will cause the eye to blink.” …

Is subconscious reprogramming possible? Can it result in more self-confidence?

“The fundamental behaviors, beliefs and attitudes we observe in our parents become ‘hard wired’ as synaptic pathways in our subconscious minds. Once programmed into the subconscious mind, they … control our biology for the rest of our lives…unless we can figure out a way to reprogram them.”
Scary, eh? And to make it worse, most of our beliefs are developed by the age of 12 and what the heck does a 12 year old know about life? I know 16 year-olds think they know everything about everything, at least that’s what they say, but 12 year-olds, no way. But the good news, subconscious reprogramming can, at any age, change your beliefs but it takes a lot of in-depth work. If you want to be more self-confident, you can be.
I’ve been asked to discuss how to make changes in the subconscious mind, or the reprogramming of the subconscious mind, because it’s not easy. Here are some suggestions. First use the thought replacement to stop reinforcing old belief systems (click here) then you must form new images, with new words and new feelings for a new belief system and then anchor that belief system in over and over again.
For deeper work, which is often required, techniques like meditation, hypnosis, NLP and my favorite, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be highly effective.
Your subconscious mind is creating most of your results and feelings. Want more of some feelings and less of others? Do you want better results? Then have the courage and persistence to change your belief systems, or you will live out your life from the beliefs you developed when you were 12.
